This is the ideal technology for production of a broad range of thin (up to 2.5 mm) metals and alloys, guaranteeing burr-free products, with minimal internal stresses.
PCM technology is one of the most cost effective processes for geometrically complex products, in either small batches or mass production. It is based on a lithographic process, where tooling is relatively inexpensive and rapidly available for production.

Boasting innovation and flexibility, SURON’s advanced laser technologies include a high-speed laser, a water jet-based laser and a Pico second pulse laser. SURON's laser technologies can be combined with other in-house machining technologies such as PCM and high speed milling, resulting in geometrically complex products, with extremely tight tolerances.
High Speed Laser
Materials: Ferrous alloys only.
Technique Features: High speed cut (~30,000 holes/hour).
Water Jet Laser
Materials: Ferrous alloys, Copper alloys, Silicon.
Technique Features: Straight cut edges, small heat affected zone, powderless processing.
Pico-Second Pulse Laser
Materials: Wide range, including - metals, ceramics, polymers, and organic.
Technique Features: Allows for blind holes & plating ablation, pattern recognition.

SURON’s advanced milling capabilities include three axis CNC milling systems, equipped with vacuum clamping technology.
Milling is one of the range of advanced technologies that SURON utilizes for machining of thin metal parts. The milling process enables component dimension accuracy of up to +/- 7 µm. High speed milling (40K rpm) results in improved cutting performance and minimal amounts of cooling lubricants.
SURON’s milling technology can be easily integrated with other in-house technologies, with optimal results, due to our preside zero-point detection and in-situ measuring capabilities. SURON’s milling systems are appropriate for machining of a wide range of materials, such as hard and soft metals, composites, and polymers.

SURON’s in-house photo electroforming process is a highly accurate build-up of material on top of the product surface, which results in burr-free edges and an extra-fine surface quality, which is almost mirror-like. Photo electroforming is ideal for thin and geometrically complex parts.

SURON's laser welding capabilities are CNC programmable and because the welding is performed in an inert (argon) environment, voids and oxidation are minimized. Our laser welding process results in a hermetic weld (with an He leak rate of 10-9 atm-cc/sec).

Plating and
Surface Processes

SURON has more than 40 years of experience in providing high quality plating and surface process solutions. SURON's plating and finishing department carries out a range of work on the metal parts produced in-house or out, including electroless gold plating and plating of nonconductive materials such as silicon and alumina. SURON's range of finishes includes stainless steel passivation, chemical polishing, blackening, anodizing, alodine, and thermal treatments.
